An experienced and respected entrepreneur in the local and international business environment, Teofil Mureșan is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, class of 1989, from the Technical University of Cluj Napoca. Within the same University, he also obtained his doctorate in electrical engineering and worked for 8 years as an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department. Continuous collaborator of UTCN, he participated in various joint projects, including obtaining a joint UTCN – Electrogrup Patent, a partnership in establishing in Cluj-Napoca the first Executive MBA program in Romania with British curriculum, together with Hull University in United Kingdom. Mr. Muresan is also a member of various scientific committees.
At the same time, he has constantly invested in his own education, so that, in addition to his PhD in Electrical Engineering at UTCN, Teofil holds a master’s degree in Leadership and Strategy from London Business School and is a graduate of the renowned OPM program at Harvard Business School.
In addition to the management role within the E-INFRA Group, Teofil Mureșan is a member in Boards of Directors of several companies and non-profit organizations. Also, his belief that education is a catalyst for change has led him to become actively involved in many educational initiatives.
In parallel with his academic activity, Teofil began his career as an engineer at the Local Energy Dispatcher in Cluj, and soon became a Dispatcher within the National Energy Dispatcher.
1997 is the year in which he took the step towards entrepreneurship by founding the first company in the E-INFRA Infrastructure Group: Electrogrup, through which he initially offered large mobile telephony companies in Romania services in energy infrastructure and telecom.
Teofil Mureșan played an essential role in the development of Electrogrup from the position of founder and then CEO for 18 years, the company expanding its services portfolio at an alert and continuous pace, becoming one of the most important builders of energy infrastructure, telecommunications and civil engineering in Romania. Since 2013, after consolidating its position in the Romanian market, Teofil has taken the Electrogrup business abroad, carrying out important construction and telecom infrastructure projects in several European countries, such as Germany, Poland, Belgium or the Netherlands.
Visionary, Teofil Mureșan understood that there are important synergies between the telecom, energy and civil engineering industries, so in 2007 he took the following steps in consolidating the E-INFRA Group: he founded the company Direct One, which today has the largest neutral long-distance national fiber optics network and adds Nova Power & Gas, a supplier and distributor of electricity and natural gas, to the Group’s portfolio. At the same time, in 2010, together with a German partner, he founded WESEE, with activity in the wind energy infrastructure sector, and in 2017 he acquired Netcity, the company that develops and operates through a strategic partnership with the City Hall, the entire metropolitan fiber optic infrastructure in Bucharest.
Currently, E-INFRA Group, founded and led by Teofil Mureșan as Chairman, has over 600 employees and generates an annual turnover of over 100 million euros.
Previously to his position in the Board, Marian coordinated the group’s telecom activities. He was previously the Chairman & CEO of Direct One from August 2008 until July 2017, where he supervised the transition of the fiber optic network owned by Electrogrup into a full-blown commercial enterprise, increasing the number of contracts for lit services and dark-fiber. In addition, he supervised the launch of the first content delivery network, with online multi-screen and multi-platform capabilities on Direct One’s backbone network.
He is an experienced telecom professional with 21 years industry experience. Prior to Direct One, he was the Deputy CTO, Network Senior Director and member of the Executive Council and Strategic Review Committee of Vodafone Romania. During his 11 years with Vodafone’s local subsidiary, he was responsible for managing the company’s network infrastructure and services platforms, overseeing an annual budget of over €300m and coordinating more than 330 professionals. During this time, Marian also assisted Vodafone’s local acquisition of Connex and helped with the integration following the transaction.
Prior to Vodafone he worked for Ericsson Romania. Separately, from 2012 to 2013 he was the Chairman of the Board of Posta Romana, the state-owned postal services organization, the largest employer in the country, with over 30,000 employees.
Marian holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the Technical Military Academy and an Executive MBA from Asebuss / Kennesaw University.
Simion is a founding member of the Group and oversees the civil infrastructure projects. He joined his brother, Teofil, in 1997 and has been supporting the development and growth of the Group in various capacities from the Electrogrup offices in Cluj. In the past 10 years Simion had an essential contribution in the Group’s international expansion, with activities in Poland, Russia, Germany and United Kingdom.
Executive Leadership
Daniel Farmache is one of the top acknowledged finance professionals of the younger generation.
Daniel Farmache joined E-INFRA after previously being part of Citigroup’s investment banking division in London, where he worked on the largest IPOs and M&A mandates in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to this, Daniel covered top tier local companies in the Citi Romania office, having executed multiple capital markets and lending transactions. In 2016, Daniel Farmache was an adviser to the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Labour.
He holds an MBA from London Business School, with an exchange at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he graduated with first-class honours in finance and banking in the UK (University of Reading – ICMA Centre) and in law in Bucharest (Nicolae Titulescu University) and also holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certificate.
Adrian is an accomplished experienced executive, with 20 years of professional experience in telecommunication companies, in all key areas of expertise – from technical to marketing, strategy and topping with general management.
Throughout his career, he launched over 300 products and services in both B2C and B2B markets, in multi-million euro projects, and managed complex teams of over 300 people.
Adrian was the CEO of Netcity Telecom from 2011 to 2016. Previously, over a period of 10 years, he worked for several mobile operators in Romania: Vodafone, Orange, Telekom and Zapp.
Since July 2016, Adrian Florea took over the CEO position at Direct One, this being the fourth General Management position in his career.
As a continuation of his Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Adrian is also a president of XC Romania – a gliding non-profit organization and a passionate pilot in his free time.
Adrian holds also a degree in Business Administration from ASE – Economics School in Bucharest, an Executive MBA Degree from ASEBUSS/Kennesaw State University and he lives in Bucharest with his wife and two sons.
Adrian Racasan joined Netcity in 2012 and has been the Chief Executive Officer of Netcity since 2016, after previously holding the positions of Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer. Adrian Racasan has over 15 years of experience in the IT&C industry, including over 10 years in management positions within well-known industry players such as UPC Romania or Astral Telecom. He holds an Engineering degree in Computers and Systems and an MBA degree from BBS/CNAM Paris.
With over 15 years of experience in the local and European telecom market, both in the technical and regulatory spheres, Gianina Pelea has a deep understanding of the telecommunications sector.
Prior to joining the E-INFRA Group, Gianina was part of the management of the consulting division of KPMG Romania, a position from which she successfully completed a number of important projects. Previously, she held significant positions in key industry institutions such as BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) and ANCOM (National Agency for Administration and Regulation in Communications).
Gianina joined the Group in early 2019 as CCO at Direct One and Netcity. Since February 2020, Gianina has been appointed CEO of Direct One.
Mircea Bica is the Chief Executive Officer of Nova Power & Gas, where he took the role in January 2016, after spending previously sixteen years with the National Power System in various operations related roles within Regional Dispatch Center of Cluj. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry, including working for companies such as Transelectrica and RENEL. He is licensed in electricity and holds a post-graduation management degree with Technical University of Cluj.
Marius Ghica is a professional with solid experience in energy and complex, strategic financial projects. His career spans over more than 20 years, including over 15 years of senior management positions in audit, financial management, strategy and corporate finance in the financial and corporate development areas, with a focus on the oil industry, mainly within the KMG International – Rompetrol Group, Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.
Marius Ghica is the main leader in terms of group financial performance. He helps transform E-INFRA’s strategic vision and projects into sustainable, profitable business models that fulfil the group’s mission to build modern infrastructure with essential, visible impact in a better quality of life, both in Romania and in the region.
Radu Panait has an extensive experience of over 20 years in human resources, in Romania and abroad, in companies like IBM, UTI, SAB Miller and Ursus. Before joining E-INFRA as the Group HR Director, Radu held the position of Talent Acquisition Manager CEE, Russia & CIS at IBM, where he led IBM’s regional human resources and recruitment operations in 28 countries. Radu graduated the Faculty of Psychology – Neuropsychology and Cybernetics at the University of Bucharest.
Olga Melihov is a professional with proven experience in the regional real estate market, having previously acted as Country Manager at BNP Paribas Real Estate Romania, one of the strongest Central and Eastern European subsidiaries in the group. With over 15 years of management experience in the region, Olga played important roles in the past at Seracom International Group Russia, responsible for the establishment, management and development of the Moscow branch of the company. Subsequently, within Mayland Real Estate, she led the company’s communications, marketing and international development areas in countries such as Romania, Ukraine and Poland.
At E-INFRA, Olga brings the group closer to the clients, turning their need for infrastructure into strategic business opportunities, while also developing the integrated commercial approach for the five companies in the group, across all key infrastructure areas – energy, telecom, constructions and smart city.
Adina Calfa is one of the most influential Legal Managers in Romania and an internationally recognized professional in The Legal 500 GC Powerlist 2017, featuring the most renowned General Counsels in Central and Eastern Europe. With over 16 years of experience and proven ability to develop and coordinate legal activities in well-known companies such as UPC, RMCG – Gabriel Resources or CMS Cameron McKenna, Adina has a strong understanding and expertise in strategic projects, operational integration and regulatory in telecomunications, energy and natural resources.
After previously leading WESEE for 3 years as CEO, Teodor is now the Chief Operational Office of the Group, holding in parallel the Deputy CEO position at Electrogrup. Holding various general management, operational and commercial positions, Teodor was the Commercial Director of Electrogrup for 1 year prior to joining WESEE. Earlier, he worked over 10 years overseas and in Romanian Oil & Gas Industry, his latest assignment being for Area Manager Eastern Europe for Downhole Division of National Oilwell Varco company. He also holds an executive MBA Degree from University of Hull, UK.
