Nova Power & Gas, Transgaz and Atlantic – See LNG Trade sign cooperation agreement within P-TEC for the acquisition of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States
As part of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation 2025 (P-TEC 2025), an event held in Athens that brings together countries from Central and Eastern Europe, the United States, and European institutional partners with the goal of strengthening energy security, Nova Power & Gas, Transgaz, and the Greek company Atlantic – See LNG Trade have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Under this memorandum, Nova Power & Gas will collaborate with national and regional partners to develop joint solutions for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), contributing to the diversification of energy sources and to strengthening regional energy security.
“The signing of this memorandum marks the first step toward ensuring a stable and secure flow of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for our region. This cooperation can be further extended through the development of HVDC power interconnectors, fiber optic backbones, and AI data centers, all positioned along the Vertical Gas Corridor. The benefits of these projects will be significant throughout the region,” said Teofil Mureșan, Chairman of the Board and Founder of E-INFRA.
This memorandum builds upon the ongoing cooperation between the United States and partners from South-Eastern Europe within P-TEC 2025, reinforcing the region’s integration into the transatlantic energy supply network and expanding collaboration through the active involvement of Romania and neighboring markets.
A historic milestone for Eastern Europe’s energy security
The signing of this memorandum represents a major strategic step in consolidating the Vertical Gas Corridor, a regional initiative of strategic importance that will enhance connectivity and energy security across Central and Eastern Europe.
Thanks to its geographical position and developed infrastructure, Romania plays a pivot role in this project, becoming a regional hub for energy transport and balancing.
